Upcoming Seminar: Unpacking "Trigger Points" - Exploring Conflict and Consensus in Contemporary Debates

In an era of heated debates across media platforms, from TV talk shows to lecture halls, many perceive public discourse as increasingly polarized. But how divided are we really? What causes certain issues to ignite passionate responses while others leave us indifferent? And what are the "trigger points" that transform our discussions into conflicts?
Linus Westheuser, along with co-authors Steffen Mau and Thomas Lux, received the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung’s "Political Book" prize for their groundbreaking work "Trigger Points: Consensus and Conflict in Contemporary Society." This seminal book challenges prevailing notions of a deeply fractured society, offering a nuanced analysis of societal conflicts.
The seminar is a cooperation between FES Nordic Countries, Arena Idé and ABF.
