    Kristina Birke Daniels

    Head of Office

    Based in Stockholm since 2022, she has extensive experience in international relations, including serving as Director of FES in Colombia, Morocco, and India. She holds an MSc in Economics specialising in International Relations Theory from the University of Wales.


Social Democracy

  • Josefin Fürst

    Policy Advisor

    She specialises in democracy and the welfare state, and at FES Nordics she has a geographical focus on Sweden and Finland. She holds an MA in Political Science from Södertörn University and has extensive experience in policy advisory work and cultural exchange.


Decent Work and Fair Economy

  • Meike Büscher

    Policy Advisor

    She specialises in economy and labour policy in the Nordic region, with a focus on gender equality in the labour market, algorithmic management, the future of work, just transition, climate policies and Denmark. She holds a diploma in Sociology from the Universities of Hamburg and Lund.


Peace and Security

  • Lukas Hassebrauck

    Policy Advisor

    He specialises in foreign policy, peace and security, with experience at FES Baltics, the German Foreign Office’s Crisis Response Centre, and the German Bundestag. At FES Nordics, he focuses on Norway and Iceland. He studied Political Science and History in Heidelberg, Milan and Paris.

  • Sara Charlotte Wahlström

    Sara Charlotte Wahlström

    Press and Event Officer

    She leads all communications and coordinates office activities at the Nordic Office under the supervision of the Office Director. She holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from JMK, Stockholm University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology, among other qualifications.


Finance and Administration

  • Eike Meyer

    Finance Officer

    He is responsible for the finances and administration of the Nordic Office. He has commercial training and extensive experience as a project manager as well as a diploma degree (which corresponds to a Master Degree) in political science from the University of Bremen.


Intern

  • Sarah Schmidt

    Intern

    She specialises in foreign policy with a focus on human security and has experience from the Munich Security Conference, German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce, German Foreign Office and Bavarian Parliament. She studied Political Science in Eichstätt, Rennes and Aix-en-Provence.
